Aspiring artists are being urged to come forward by the Malta Society of Arts (MSA) to hold their first solo exhibition at Palazzo de La Salle, Republic Street, Valletta.
Five artists will be given the opportunity to take part in the First-Time Solo Art Exhibition, to be held between Friday 15th November and Friday 19th December 2014, at Palazzo de La Salle.
The exhibition aims at encouraging aspiring artists, who have not yet had the opportunity to show their work in a solo exhibition environment, to show their talent through ten of their works. There are four distinct exhibition halls and the courtyard at our premises which we are placing at their disposal.
Works do not need to be produced specially for the exhibition, but may be selected from current works. These works of art can be executed in any medium and can be in any hanging or free-standing genres, such as drawing, paintings, sculpture, photography. Special arrangements will be made as regards to installations and / or video works. There are not restrictions on the choice of subject and / or expression.
MSA is looking for originality, creativity, innovation and artistic expression.
The purpose of this initiative is to give exposure to artists who have so far had no visibility in the art world. Thus ‘solo’ is being defined as not having exhibited more than nine works in any single event ever before. Interested participants have until July 31st to submit their application form and digital images of their works.
This year’s sponsors are Vee Gee Bee Art (of San Gwann and Valletta), Valletta Fund Management and Delicata Wine Maker.
