Mr John Warren will be the London College of Music examiner for the coming Spring 2013 Practical exams which will be held at Palazzo de La Salle between the 13th and the 27th May 2013.
After initial study in Cambridge, John Warren did his degree of B.Mus at Goldsmith’s College University of London, also working at a string of diplomas before going onto Post Graduated Studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, also in London, where he specialised in piano accompaniment. In a very varied career he has broadcast, recorded, played and conducted all over the world. Highlights have included Conducting at the Boston Symphony in USA, in Chicago, at the Prague Festival Czech Republic, in France and Germany programmes of English Music, the revival of ‘Hiawatha’ at the Birmingham Symphony Hall England, and at the Royal Gala Concert attended by H.R.H. the late Diana, Princess of Whales. As well as music performing, some of John’s compositions have recently been in the USA. Away from music he gives talks on Art and was a notable Jacob Marley in ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens at Stratford. Many famous artists have appeared in John’s concerts including Julian Lloyd Webber, and Dame Evelyn Glennie.
He has lectured, adjudicated and examined all over the world. This year he celebrates 30 years with the London College of Music, in which he has examined as far afield as India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore. He looks ahead to meeting everyone and hearing some lovely music making in Malta.
