Malta International Double Bass Festival, Valletta 2021

The Malta International Double Bass Festival’s main aim is to promote the double bass as the true versatile instrument that it is and bring it closer to the wider public, making it more approachable and encouraging young musician to pick up this wonderful instrument, as well as motivate advanced students to further their studies and careers on this instrument.
It is a double bass festival that consists of intense lectures and master classes both by local and internationally acclaimed guest professors as well as evening concerts.
Organised by Malta Philharmonic principal double bass players Gjorgji Cincievski and Michelle Agius and supported by the Valletta Cultural Agency, this years 6th edition of the festival will welcome LIVE some of the worlds leading International tutors and soloists, such as Jiri Hudec, Diego Zecharies, Simon Garcia and Uli Schneider.
To help with the further encouragement of young and professional musicians to perform, whilst creating a platform where they can build their confidence and experience through their musical and artistic expression, we also organize the prestigious Joseph Sammut Malta International Double bass Competition.
