This Violin & DJ concert celebrates the meeting of classical excellence and contemporary musical artistry. The unique performance features renowned Ukrainian violin virtuoso Yevhen Stankovych, musician of the National Opera of Ukraine, alongside DJ VOVIN – a collaboration that gives rise to a sophisticated musical journey, where timeless masterpieces are reimagined through elegant modern arrangements.

The programme features works by some of the world’s greatest composers, including:

Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert, Johann Pachelbel, George Frideric Handel, Michał Kleofas Ogiński, Myroslav Skoryk, Karl Jenkins, Ennio Morricone, John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Francis Lai, Vangelis, Giovanni Marradi, James Horner, Georges Bizet, Consuelo Velázquez, Osvaldo Farrés, Édith Piaf, Paul McCartney, and many other internationally celebrated composers.

A highlight of the evening will be the World Premiere of two brand-new compositions by the distinguished Ukrainian composer Yevhen Stankovych. Written exclusively for this concert, these works will be performed publicly for the very first time.

The programme is designed to appeal to both devoted classical music enthusiasts and audiences of all ages. Combining violin performance, original arrangements, and the remarkable atmosphere of the historic Malta Society of Arts, this concert offers a fresh perspective on classical music while embracing beloved cinematic themes and internationally acclaimed melodies.

The concert will conclude at 9:30 PM, followed by an opportunity for guests to meet the artists, take photographs, and celebrate this unique musical occasion together.

Yevhen Stankovych, Violinist – Biography

Yevhen Stankovych is a distinguished Ukrainian virtuoso violinist, a professional musician with the National Opera of Ukraine, and a graduate of the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine (Kyiv Conservatory).

With more than 30 years of professional concert experience under his belt, he has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician on prestigious stages across Ukraine, Europe, and Asia. His international appearances include performances in Japan, and Austria, as well as numerous other countries, where he has proudly represented the rich tradition of the Ukrainian classical violin school.

Renowned for his exceptional artistry, refined musicianship, and expressive stage presence, Yevhen Stankovych combines technical brilliance with profound musical sensitivity. His performances captivate audiences through their elegance, emotional depth, and distinctive interpretation, making each concert a memorable artistic experience.

He is the son of the celebrated Ukrainian composer Yevhen Stankovych, one of the country’s most influential contemporary composers. For this special concert, Maestro Yevhen Stankovych has composed two brand-new works, which will receive their world premiere during the performance.

Blending the traditions of classical performance with an openness to innovative musical collaborations, Yevhen Stankovych creates unique concert programmes that appeal to both devoted classical music enthusiasts and new audiences, demonstrating the timeless power and universal language of music.

DJ VOVIN – Biography

DJ VOVIN is a DJ, music producer, and performer who began his professional career in 2005. Over the years, he has performed in clubs across Ukraine and Eastern Europe, developing a distinctive style that blends melodic house, progressive, organic, and atmospheric electronic music.

VOVIN is the co-author of nearly all musical works, remixes, albums, and releases produced by the Kind of Zero project. Throughout its creative journey, the project has released a number of successful EPs, albums, and singles, including Under Hypnosis, Autumn Strings, New Life, 4th Dimension, Maitreya, My Mantra, Paradice Fruit, Happy People, The Game Of, Positive, Pshenichka, and many others. Several releases featured remixes by renowned producers such as Ben Coda, Jacco@Work, and Matt Black. The project’s music has been released on international digital platforms, supported by DJs within the electronic music scene, and featured on specialist radio stations and in clubs across Europe. Kind of Zero also produced an official remix for the album “ReFORMATcia” by the Ukrainian band TNMK (Tanok na Maidani Kongo).

Today, DJ VOVIN is a performer in the DJ & Violin concert project, combining contemporary electronic music with the expressive sound of live classical violin. Together with virtuoso violinist Yevhen Stankovych, he presents unique concert programmes that merge world classical masterpieces, film music, and modern electronic sound into a distinctive live performance experience.
