14 December, 2025 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Sea Between Two Islands

Music for flute and piano by Katie Bycroft and Sally Goodworth

This concert is a celebration of the power of music to connect and communicate between people.

Sally Goodworth and Katie Bycroft have been playing together for many years and their musical connection is beautifully evident in every note of their performances. This concert is their second appearance at the Malta Society of Arts in Malta and they are delighted to present a new work, composed by Pamela Chilvers. This three-movement work for flute and piano is inspired by the theme of the sea between two islands, Malta and the UK.

The programme also features the alto flute, with works by British composers Ralph Vaughan Williams and John Rutter.

The concert ends with a joyful and dramatic sonata by Georgian composer Otar Taktakishvili, showcasing the range and depth of sound of both flute and piano.

The concert is raising funds for Villabianca Centre for Music and the Arts, a project of The Malta Trust Foundation.
