Victor Pãtrãşcan is an eccentric stand-up comedian and outrageous social commentator from Romania. He honed his craft for joke writing in the London comedy circuit where he lived until 2020. In that same year, he left the bubble of UK politics and instead opted to live his life on the road and tour his self-produced shows all over the European continent.

Since then, Victor has travelled to corners of the world. In some of these places, he has been the first comedian to perform in English. He has told jokes in Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Turkey, Sweden, France, Serbia, Switzerland, Finland, Belgium, Iceland, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Gibraltar, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, Croatia, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Hungary, Ukraine and even Denmark.

In 2023 alone, Victor performed in front of more than 20,000 people across 70 cities, 32 countries and 2 continents. Consequently, he has a legitimate claim for having the longest and most extensive self-produced comedy show in Europe.

Victor weaves this unique experience into his stand-up as he has somewhat become like a sponge absorbing the intricacies of European culture and politics. His style is distinctly shaped by his peculiar life as a vagabond.

While he jokes about the stereotypes and misconceptions of every country, he also highlights the silliness of our presumed differences in an effort to assert our sameness.

Victor Patrascan Biography

I was born in Romania and grew up in a small village with my grandparents in a house they built with their own hands. My grandfather also dug up the hole that became the toilet in the back yard. When I got older, I moved to the city with my mom and after bluffing my way through school, I earned a BA in Philosophy from the worst university in Romania.

I’m technically the first Romanian to start performing stand-up comedy in broken English, with my first performance being in London at the UCL Print Room Cafe in 2012. That was also when I got my first official complaint for telling inappropriate jokes. We had a meeting about it, I was told off and I was almost expelled from the university Comedy Club.

Since 2020 I’ve been touring constantly. I live on the road, I travel from country to country, city to city telling my jokes. The thing that I am most proud of is that I organise all these shows myself. No agents or representation. I invest my own money tha I make from the tickets that I sell, 0 outside investment or influence. All independent and self sufficient. I love it like this. Like, when you send me an email, you’ll get a reply from me. When you buy the tickets, you buy them directly from me. If there are spelling mistakes anywehre in this text, that’s also my fault.

These days the production work it so much that I do get help from my very smart and talented friend Holly. But, I remember when I started touring I used to be a one-man-band, I was designing the posters, calling  up the venues and asking them if they would have my show to even laughing at my own jokes.

Over the last years, I have done more things than I ever dreamt of. For example, in 2023 alone, I performed in over 70 cities, 32 countries on 2 continents. Consequently, I might as well claim to have the longest and most extensive self-produced comedy show in Europe.

In the last 4 years, I’ve told my jokes in Germany, Japan, Italy, the Netherlands, Greece, Austria, Singapore, Turkey, Sweden, France, Serbia, Switzerland, Georgia, Finland, Belgium, Iceland, Ukraine, Spain, Estonia, Italy, Cyprus, Ireland, South Korea, Portugal, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic, Iceland, Norway, Slovakia, very close to the Vatican, Thailand, Georgia, UK, Slovenia, Armenia, Croatia, Poland, Latvia, Armenia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, UAE, Denmark, Moldova, Vietnam, Hungary, and even Bulgaria.

Back in 2019 and 2020 I was at the top in the rankings of Roast Battle London. Oh, and my big claim to fame came in 2021 when I was a special guest on the Romanian TV show iUmor where I told jokes about religion and Romanians being racist and consequently scared a few people with my jokes.

Right now, I’m probably on tour somewhere in Europe telling jokes. Come and watch some live comedy, it’s much more fun than on your phone or on TV. I’m planning to venture out where no Romanian has gone before. Let me know where you live and I’ll come and do a show there! Click on this and fill in the form and tell me where I should tell jokes. Seriously, I’ll come to your town in your part of the world.
