Lostography: A Passage Through Time – A solo exhibition by Kathryn Baldacchino

‘Lostography: A Passage through Time’ is a three-room photographic exhibition exploring how we remember, what we hold onto, what remains, and what fades away. The exhibition brings together digital colour works reflected in the beauty of the present moment, black and white pieces shaped by stillness and form, and analogue works that reveal the tactile process of film.

Across these rooms, moments repeat, mirror each other, or gently fade. Surfaces hold traces of what was there and shadows mark what has passed. Moving between the built world and the natural one, each piece reflects what photography preserves and what quietly slips away, a study of what remains and what time lets go.

Kathryn Baldacchino – Artist Biography

Kathryn Baldacchino works under the name Lostography, using it as an umbrella for all the mediums through which she explores photography. Her practice began in London, where she studied analogue film and developed a strong connection to the physical process of making images — developing film by hand, shaping light through burning and dodging, and creating prints that are unique to each moment in the darkroom. She later built her own darkroom in Malta, continuing to refine her analogue approach while also recognising the viability of digital photography within her wider practice. She now lives and works in northern Italy.
