Having been described as “an irresistible powerhouse”, Joanne Camilleri and Gabi Sultana return to Palazzo De La Salle to present a thrilling piano duo programme. From Ligeti’s early avant-garde experimentation to Ravel’s lush impressionism and Skoryk’s fusion of folk and contemporary elements, this concert promises to be a compelling exploration of different musical styles.

Joanne Camilleri Biography

A charismatic and versatile musician, Joanne Camilleri is highly sought-after as a soloist, accompanist and chamber musician, having performed with numerous international musicians both on piano and harpsichord. She is a prize-winning graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music (UK) and also holds a Doctorate in Piano Performance from the University of Malta. Performances have included those around Europe and Asia.

Gabi Sultana Biography

Described as “a demon of energy; yet one of impeccable articulation”, Gabi Sultana is an internationally acclaimed soloist and chamber musician, especially within the contemporary music scene.

Her passion and ability to bring contemporary compositions to the public have earned her rave reviews from around the globe. Her performances have brought her to many prestigious concert halls and festivals around the world including Carnegie Hall in New York [USA]; Canberra International Music Festival [AUS]; Hamamatsu World Music Festival [JP], to name but a few.
