Daniel Sant Debut Album Launch

During this launch concert, Daniel will be playing pieces from his album “Catharsis”.

Here are a few comments from Daniel:

“”Catharsis” was mostly written mostly during the COVID period and my ensuing first year at HKU Utrecht Conservatory. After seeing William Smith’s “Nomad” album launch at the Malta Society of Arts premises in Malta, the pianist Ali Murat Cengiz asked whether I write my own songs, to which I replied that I do. He encouraged me to record them in that same hall – and so by the end of the summer I had recorded all my pieces. It was recorded over two hot and humid summer days with Quentin Falzon acting as engineer. I mixed the songs myself during the following Christmas period. They were then mastered by Ron Kestello in Vianen the following spring. And now we’re finally ready to launch the album! See you all at the Malta Society of Arts!”

Daniel Sant is a Maltese pianist currently studying Jazz Piano at HKU in Utrecht. Raised on classical music, he eventually discovered contemporary styles and other instruments in his teens and this led him to start recording his own material. Over the years, Daniel has collaborated with many musicians in various styles, and nowadays finds himself focusing on jazz piano in particular, while not losing touch with his classical upbringing. He has released music under his own name. Daniel recorded his debut album in summer 2022, and he will be releasing this solo piano album in mid-2023.
