Caricatucracy: Ruling by Cartoons – An exhibition by Francois Galea
Organised by the Culture Directorate
How is the world of caricature related to reimagining tomorrow and possibilities for peace? What is so special about Caricatucracy; ruling by cartoons? Through a unique lens and craftmanship, illustrator Francois Galea transformed words into sketches, and ideas into a journey. The symbiotic relationship between arts, activism and positive social change resonated across the forums held as part of the Malta Festival of Ideas 2025.
The walk-through exhibition kick starts the Malta Festival of Ideas’ cultural and artistic programme for 2026.
The exhibition will be open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays between 4:30pm and 8:30pm. Monday and Tuesday, 23 and 24 March between 9am and noon.
The event includes also the launch of the first publication by the Malta Festival of Ideas, capturing salient moments and recommendations from the first two editions.
