This short introductory course is designed for artists who want to understand how artificial intelligence can support and expand their creative practice. It offers a clear and accessible overview of what AI is, how it works in artistic contexts, and how it is already being used across visual art, design, music, writing, performance, and digital media. Through examples, discussion, and guided exploration of tools, participants will discover how AI can be used for idea generation, experimentation, creative collaboration, and workflow enhancement. The session also addresses important questions around authorship, originality, ethics, and the role of the artist in an AI-assisted creative process. By the end of the course, participants will have a practical understanding of the opportunities and limits of AI in the arts, and greater confidence in exploring these tools critically and creatively.
