During this course, students will learn the traditional Maltese handcraft known as ‘Il-Ganutell’ which has played an important part in the artistic, religious, and cultural history of the Maltese islands.
By the end of the course the students will be able to:
- create a variety of decorative flowers using wire and thread;
- craft different types of petals;
- identify which material to use for flowers and petals;
- assemble flowers and petals in an artistic way to create a bouquet; and
- explain the step-by-step process which leads to the beauty and intricacy of the ganutell art.
