In this exciting four-session course, students aged 10 years upwards will become digital authors as they write, design, and publish their own original storybook using a safe, digital publishing tool. This course builds not only creative writing and digital publishing skills, but also supports communication, critical thinking, and confidence — all in a fun and supportive environment. The aims of this programme are for the student to:
- Plan and structure their creative writing into clear, engaging sections;
- Personalise page layouts;
- Add illustrations, photos, and voice narration;
- Design a professional-looking front and back cover including a blurb; and
- Learn to give and receive constructive peer feedback
- Publish and share their finished digital book with family and friends.
By the end of the course, the students will be able to:
- Plan and draft a short creative story with a clear beginning, middle, and end;
- Use digital tools to enhance their writing with images and audio;
- Apply basic design principles to create a visually appealing digital book;
- Collaborate with peers by giving and responding to constructive feedback; and
- Publish a complete digital book and share it online in a safe, secure way.
