SensitIV Concert by Goldberg Ensemble
Under the direction of Mro Michael Laus
This event will form part of a series of events for the project AMUSE, whose pinnacle will take place in September 2019.
SensItIV is an exciting new four-movement composition by Christopher Muscat, with aleatoric and minimalistic components, based on the four elements: earth, water, wind and fire. The composition, which is due to receive its first performance by the Goldberg Ensemble conducted by Michael Laus in Palazzo de la Salle on 24th September 2019, is for piano, violin, viola, percussion and choral ensemble, and will make use of the spatial element, with the performers in the courtyard as well as the Concert Hall of Palazzo de La Salle. Each of the four movements is scored for a different combination of instruments and voices, e.g. the first movement for choir and percussion, the second for piano, violin and viola, and so on. The work will also see the participation of a Hypermedia Sculptor, who will enhance the aural aspect of the composition, as well as adding visual and tactile elements. There will be an explanation about the work before it is performed, and the audience will be invited to participate, thus adding to the aleatoric aspect of the work.
